Chris Roche is the Director of the Institute for Social Change at La Trobe University. Prior to this, Chris has worked for numerous INGOs, including Oxfam Great Britain and Oxfam Australia, for over 25 years.

Chris has a particular interest in understanding how INGOs can best support progressive social change. The Institute he directs has recently submitted an ARC linkage proposal on the Future of International NGOs in partnership with Oxfam NZ, Oxfam Australia, Plan International Australia, International Women’s Development Agency, Water Aid Australia, Australian Red Cross, The Voice (PNG), and the Central Land Council.

Chris is the co-author of Ethical Questions for International NGOs with Keith Horton, The End of the Golden Age of NGOs? With Andrew Hewett, and Impact Assessment for Development Agencies.
