Simon Eccleshall is the Director of Programs and Institutional Relations at Islamic Relief Australia. He has over 25 years’ experience in planning, implementing and evaluation programmes and policies related to disaster preparedness, response, recovery, risk reduction and sustainable development, including more than 10 years’ practical experience managing disaster and conflict response operations in the field across the Asia-Pacific, in Africa and in the Middle East. Simon has been a member of the Board for the Sphere Project, a member of the Working Group of the Steering Committee for Humanitarian Response (SCHR), a member of the World Economic Forum – Global Agenda Council and was a founding member of the Board for the Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP). Simon joined ACFID’s Development Practice Committee in August 2018.
