Associate Porfessor Ellie Rennie is a Principal Research Fellow in the Digital Ethnography Research Centre (Technology, Communications and Policy Lab), based in the Scholl of Media and Communication at RMIT. She is also a member of RMIT’s Blockchain Innovation Hub. Ellie investigates the social consequences of technological change and is currently focussed on digital inclusion and automation/blockchain. Her approach involves mixed methods, often in collaboration with data scientists, anthropologists, sociologists and economists. Her book publications include: Using Media for Social Innovation (co-authored with Aneta Podkalicka), Internet on the Outstation: The digital divide and remote Aboriginal communities (multi-authored with industry partners), Life of SYN: A Story of Digital Generation, and Community Media: A Global Introduction.
